Madrid, the capital of Spain, currently has a population in the city of around 3.5 million, the population of the community of Madrid, which includes many of the surrounding areas of Madrid, all together; boast a population of just over 6,369,000, in 2011.


Madrid has a Continental Mediterranean climate, in winter though it can get very cold, due to the altitude, which can bring temperatures to freezing level and the possibility of snow. Summertime is usually in the 30 (86F) – 40º (104) mark.

An ideal choice for a holiday, with so many things to see and do for all of the family, for kids, el parque de atracciones, Warner Bros Park, el Parque de Retiro, bus tours, museums, zoo, aquariums, safari park, leisure centers, wax museums, even an urban beach. Its major landmarks include the stunning Royal Palace which combines a mixture of classical and Baroque architecture, Plaza de Oriente, the Opera House, the Bank of Spain building and the very impressive post office building is among some of the most impressive architecture.



Madrid has a splendid collection of over 70 museums, aspects of which interest all visitors. Among them, the Prado Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the National museum, the Centro de Arte Raina Sofia, the world's finest art. Beautifully kept parks and gardens in the city make Madrid one of the greenest capitals of Europe.
